The Maelstrom Mod introduces four new races to the Sins of a Solar Empire Universe. If you pre-order you get access to the beta, with the final release on the 12th of next month. Sins of a Solar Empire is probably my favourite strategy game, and the new stand-alone expansion is currently in the final beta phase. Rebellion, the last standalone expansion, came out in 2012 and fans of RTS-4X hybrids have been pretty underserved since.

Prospective stellar conquerors will need to court and control these minor factions, competing with the other major powers. Minor Factions throws 15 new minor factions into the cosmic maelstrom. The Minor Factions DLC will pop into existence on December 17. Unfortunately, we’re not getting a sequel, but Rebellion is getting some new DLC very soon.
