The source of the conflict are deposits of a mysterious element called Tiberium. We also take part in specially prepared, individual campaigns, which include separate military missions.
Depending on which side we choose, we receive various troops, weapons and military equipment at our disposal. The player stands for one of the rival parties to the conflict - the terrorist faction of the Brotherhood of Nod, which seeks to control the world, or the GDI, a defence organisation set up by the UN and NATO, whose aim is to defend civilisation against the expansion of barbarians.
